Shanghai Disneyland Breaks Ground on Spider-Man Coaster and Land

Shanghai Disneyland has broken ground on their first ever Marvel attraction.
What’s Happening:
- Shared via the park’s Instagram account, Shanghai Disneyland has broken ground on the park’s upcoming Spider-Man themed land.
- While other parks around the world have stuck to the Avengers Campus moniker for their Marvel-themed areas, Shanghai’s will be devoted to Spider-Man.
- This marks the ninth land within Shanghai Disneyland, which most recently opened Zootopia.
- Spidey’s new land will be located next to the aforementioned Zootopia, featuring a Spider-Man themed coaster expected to become a major thrill ride for the park.
- The rest of the land will include shopping, dining, and entertainment dedicated to the web-slinging fan favorite (and his friends).
- While Marvel characters currently meet at Shanghai Disneyland, it has yet to be announced if their presence will move to this area of the park or they will remain separate, allowing Spidey to have the full spotlight.
- No opening timeline has been announced, but with the groundbreaking ceremony taking place, it’s as good a time as any to get excited!
