What’s Happening:

  • Today, May 26th, Laughing Place had the chance to check out the newest addition to Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
  • The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, which replaces the former Voyage of the Little Mermaid stage show, takes guests “under the sea" for a magical journey of music, puppetry, and brand new projection effects.
  • While the show is somewhat of an update of Voyage of the Little Mermaid show, reusing many of the old puppets and story beats, The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure takes on an identity of its own, adding “Kiss the Girl" as well moments from Ariel’s story not seen in the previous iteration of the attraction.

  • While there have been some complaints from fans online about the new show, A Musical Adventure seems like an upgrade through and through.
  • Gone are the “movie segment" sections of the show, now replaced with really impressive scrim projection effects alongside the actors.
  • For families with children or fans of Disney’s hit animated film The Little Mermaid, this show is a must see when visiting the Walt Disney World park. You can read Laughing Place’s review of the new attraction here.
