Walt Disney World Debuts New Custodial Cast Member Costumes

The iconic Mickey Mouse patch has been carried over into the new design

Walt Disney World guests are sure to notice a new change to some Cast Member costumes throughout the parks as the custodial team is going to be sporting a fresh new look.

What’s Happening:

  • The costuming team at Walt Disney World has debuted a new outfit for cast members that park guests are sure to see throughout the Resort.
  • The new costume design, designed for Custodial Cast Members throughout the Walt Disney World Resort, features moisture-wicking fabrics that also serve as a sun protectant with added stretch, additional pockets, vibrant new colors, and adjustable pants that cinch at the ankle.
  • The design team was also well aware of the cherished Mickey Mouse sweeping emblem, and carried over that patch into the new design.
  • The design also includes a hat, sourced from a new vendor - a women-owned business started by a former optometrist. The hat chosen from this vendor not only boasts key safety features, but its unique shape also fits perfectly for cast who wear glasses, all while being adjustable for different hair styles.
  • Cast feedback was one of the most important things when designing the costumes. After all, they’re the ones working in them all day. Designers wanted to make sure they felt comfortable and confident on the job and making magic.
  • Guests are also sure to see these on the custodial team, as custodians at Walt Disney World are also affectionately referred to as “Super Greeters" as more often than not, they are the first Cast Members that a guest encounters in need of quick information, like the location of the nearest bathroom, drink stand, or popcorn cart.

  • This is also the latest in a number of Cast Member Costume changes at Walt Disney World, with more promised to come. After all, the Walt Disney World costuming department is the largest working wardrobe in the world, with nearly 140 million individual garments, and 893 costume designs.
  • If you’d like to see these new costumes for yourself on Walt Disney World Cast Members, be sure to reach out to our friends at Mouse Fan Travel who can assist with all your booking needs.
